Want to help make MVC better and stronger?
Our volunteers are key members of the Mingo Valley Christian team, and we welcome all parents, alumni, and grandparents to join our strong volunteer community. We have a lot of fun together! Parents should watch their Friday Email for news about volunteer opportunities, though some are already listed in the form on this page.

For the safety of all our students, all volunteers must submit the volunteer application below and will additionally be subject to a background check (at the school's expense.)
I am Interested in the volunteer opportunities below:
This is not a firm commitment, merely an indication of your interest. Someone from the school will be in touch with you to discuss further. MORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE PUBLICIZED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR VIA THE FRIDAY EMAIL!
Compliance with our volunteer policies:
Volunteers play a key role in many aspects of our school. Thank you for your interest in joining our team. As a volunteer you will be authorized by the superintendent to act as a school official subject to the directions and control of the school’s administrator, faculty, and teachers. Please review the information that follows regarding important guidelines for our volunteers. By leaving your name as an e-signature at the end of this form you are agreeing to abide by these guidelines at all times. Before volunteering at MVC, you are asked if you subscribe to the Mission, Purpose, and Statement of Faith of Mingo Valley Christian without mental reservation or equivocation, as stated below. MISSION: Serving God in partnership with parents to build faith, knowledge and character in the hearts and minds of our students – to the glory of Jesus Christ the son of God. PURPOSE STATEMENT: 1) Integrating faith and learning, 2) Cultivating academic excellence, and 3) Celebrating moral virtue. STATEMENT OF FAITH: 1) We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative, Word of God, 2) We believe there is one God, eternally existent in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, 3) We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory, 4) We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful man, regeneration is through the Lord Jesus Christ only, and not baptism, church membership, etc., 5) We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation, 6) We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, 7) We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to indwell the Christian to enable him to live a godly life. VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT: As a volunteer you are expected to conform to biblical standards of behavior at all times. You are serving as a role model. Do not show partiality toward any student nor share your personal political beliefs or religious beliefs. Relationships between volunteers, staff, faculty members and students are to be friendly and courteous not familial or intimate. Be careful that any physical contact and verbal interchanges avoid even the appearance of impropriety (1 Peter 2:12). Do not touch a student, of any age, for any reason, anywhere that would be covered by a bathing suit. Any time you are with one or more students, make sure you are easily visible to the public to avoid any appearance of inappropriateness, or cause for accusations. Volunteer drivers should never be alone in the car with one student. Volunteers are not peers of the students, but are to exercise appropriate authority over the students. Whenever possible, use positive discipline by encouraging the student to do what you expect of them rather than asking them to stop a particular behavior. For example, say “Remember to walk.” instead of “Stop running in the hallway.” Often times it can be effective to offer choices. For example, “You can wait for your turn on the swing or you can play something else.” If a child is not responding, to your directions, turn the situation over to a staff or faculty member. You are obligated to report any suspected child abuse to the teacher, counselor, or superintendent. This includes, seeing suspicious wounds or bruises or concern over something a child has shared with you. If you are scheduled to serve on a particular day or time, we ask that you notify the school if you are unable to keep your commitment for that date / time for any reason. In the event you should ever be injured while volunteering and believe that the accident may result in an insurance claim, please notify the office immediately. A background check will be requested before you are allowed to volunteer. You will have full access to the background check upon its completion. In addition, you must be willing to have a new background check run at any time one is requested. CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT: At times you may have access to student records and information. It is your responsibility to assure that those records and information, regardless of source or media type, remain confidential at all times. You shall under no circumstances or at any time disclose such information verbally or in writing without the express permission of MVCS. Any questions regarding confidential records should be directed to the school office or the appropriate teacher. You must immediately report any breach or suspected breach of confidentiality to the school office. Please type your name below--this will be your e-signature to indicate you agree to fully abide by all of the gui
