Theatre

The stage is set...
Our highly regarded theatre program attracts patrons throughout the community. Upper School students perform two productions a year (a play in the fall and a musical in the spring), and the productions are almost entirely student led, from cast to orchestration to hair/makeup to lighting and more. It is not uncommon for over half our Upper School student body to be involved in the production in some capacity. This high level of involvement creates a rich sense of camaraderie among the students involved.

Mr. Madden explains the importance of this work: “When we tell stories well and we allow people to identify with characters’ joys and failures, we’re doing what art is meant to do. God is the ultimate storyteller, and He’s telling a big story of redemption. When we tell these little stories of redemption, we’re in essence being a whisper of the bigger story of redemption going on.”

Francis A. Schaeffer

A Christian should use the arts to the glory of God, as things of beauty to the praise of God. An art work can be a doxology in itself.
