Jr/Sr Orientation

Oklahoma Christian University (map)

This event is mandatory for all juniors and seniors. We will meet at MVC at 7:30 am to leave for Oklahoma Christian University, and we will return to MVC around 3:45. Lunch is provided. Students may dress in spirit wear or regular dress code. No frayed/holey jeans, no athletic wear. We are need of parent volunteers to drive. If you have questions or can volunteer to drive, please email Mrs. Morton.

 

K4, K5, 1st grade Meet Your Teacher (session 1)

Choose whichever session fits your schedule best! Come meet Mrs. Hayes (K4), Miss Brown (K5), and Mrs. Ludrick (1st). It is recommended that you bring your school supplies at this time. If you are unable to attend, it is fine to bring them on the first day. Spirit wear available for sale before and after this event in the MVC lobby. Questions?

New Family Orientation

WELCOME, new families! We're so excited you're here and can't wait to welcome you to the MVC family! This orientation will meet in our main auditorium--come early or stay late if you'd like to shop for MVC spirit wear. We'll have a main group session from 9-10, then you'll have a chance to walk around and look at classrooms and meet teachers. Both parents and students are welcome. Questions?

Secondary locker set up (optional)

THIS IS OPTIONAL! Secondary students may come by school to set up their lockers, if they wish. Please keep in mind that your teachers are very happy to see you, but they will still have much work to do! Feel free to pop in for a quick hello, but please save your longer questions about curriculum, class structure, etc, for the first day of school (students) or back-to-school nights (parents).

6th Grade and New Student Breakfast

All new secondary students and all incoming 6th graders (even if you've been at MVC a long time!) are invited to come have breakfast with your Citadel leaders in Eagle Commons

Elementary Skate Night

Rhema Ninowski Center (map)

All K4-5th grade students and families are invited to come celebrate the start of school at the Ninowski Center. $5 per skater and concessions will be served. Questions?

ELEMENTARY Back-to-School Night

Join us to hear from Dr. Chitwood and your K4-5th grade child(ren)'s teacher(s) about curriculum, policies, and the year ahead. It is preferred that parents only attend this event (no students), though if the only way you can attend is to bring your kids, that is fine. Questions?

K4-11th grade. Students should wear normal dress code clothing. No jackets or sports jackets. 

Note that seniors are on a later date.

Packets will be sent home. Payment will need to be included with the order. There is a discount for multiple siblings. More details to follow. Email Mrs. Funkhouser with questions.

Food handler training

MVC auditorium. This event is for all secondary students and any volunteers who handle food. If you are unable to attend this event, you can take the course online for free. (If you take the online version, please print out the card and give it to Mrs. Foster.) Questions? Email Mrs. Foster.

 

Parent welcome breakfast

Whether it's your first year at Mingo Valley or your 20th, come join us for breakfast and fellowship with friends and hear a little about the exciting things going on this year! Meet in Eagle Commons. Questions?

Seniors should wear their Sunday best, formal dress code compliant. Seniors will receive an email from Josten’s with package information.

Join us for our family picnic on the grounds, with games, concessions, and fun for the whole family (this is NOT just for elementary families--everyone should come!) You may park in the east (secondary), along the street, or at the Union school down the road. More details to come!
