Welcome to the Mingo Valley Christian School website.

As a college preparatory and Christian school it is our purpose to prepare students for today, tomorrow, and eternity.   All faculty, staff and administrators are committed to the mission of Serving God in partnership with parents to build faith, knowledge and character in the hearts and minds of our students to the glory of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

In the context of a rigorous academic program we want to “assert the union between faith and knowledge as demonstrated in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ the Son of God.”

Steven Garber, the director of The Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture, in his book The Fabric of Faithfulness, writes about those people who had been able to hold on to “the integrity of their vocations through life…[and] have woven together belief and behavior in a fabric of faithfulness that has kept their hearts alive in the face of evil and injustice, grief and pain.”  He surmises that those people, without exception, along the way, “met a teacher….”  They met a teacher.  Clearly, one of our greatest assets at Mingo Valley is the teachers who have committed themselves to mirror the values they most want in their students.

In the great education debates there is often someone missing—the student.  I am encouraged, as I walk the halls of our school, to see students who are moving against a tide of low expectations and are responding the challenges. They are staking a claim in their own success.  They want to make a difference in the world without compromising who they are.  For 36 years MVCS has made a tradition of helping them achieve that goal.

As you look around on this site I hope you find the information helpful and that it will provoke enough questions that you might be motivated to, “Come and See!”
