GUIDANCE
Mingo Valley is fortunate to have an Academic Advisor on staff who works with high school students to provide guidance through high school as well as college and career advisement. Academic advisement begins before the start of the freshman year when each student meets individually with the Academic Advisor to formulate a four-year plan of study and continues through graduation. The plan of study takes into account each student’s individual abilities and future plans. As part of their plan of study, students have the option to enroll in concurrent college classes in their junior and senior year, which enables them to earn college credit while fulfilling their high school graduation requirements.
The Academic Advisor provides extensive information and assistance to students and families to help them navigate the college application process. College representatives are invited to visit campus allowing students the opportunity to learn about and explore the options available to them. Senior students are encouraged to meet individually with the Academic Advisor to ensure that they are on track with their post high school plans.
College representatives can contact Cheryl Wassall at 918.294.0404 x 210 to schedule a campus visit.
