About MVCS - Fact Sheet

Mingo Valley Christian School (MVCS) is a non-profit 501(c) (3), non-denominational private school, with an enrollment of approximately 310 students, offering grades K4 through 12 th grade.

In the five year history of our high school, MVCS has had three National Merit Finalists.

Curriculum
Great research is invested in selection of the best available curriculum within each grade and for each subject. Some of the textbook publishers that we use to implement our curriculm are: ABEKA, ACSI, Bob Jones, Saxon, Shurley English.

Faculty
Teachers: 15 full-time; four part-time; one of our current teachers is an alumnus; Faculty and staff are selected based on their academic qualifications and spiritual commitment, as well as their ability to relate to students and parents.

Financial
Ninety percent of MVCS tuition receipts are budgeted for salary expenses. With a yearly budget of over $1,000,000, the school has always demonstrated financial responsibility and has submitted its books to internal audits. MVCS does not accept government funding.

Founding
Opening its doors in 1976 with only 10 students, Mingo Valley Christian School has grown today to over 310 students from kindergarten through 12 th grade.

History
For the first 20 years, MVCS was elementary only. By 1997, we began adding grades yearly until our first graduating class of 2001. By 2003, MVCS attained accreditation from both ACSI and NCA.

Leadership
MVCS has been directed by Dennis Queen (Superintendent-15 years), the Board of Directors, and the School Board.

Patrons
The Mingo family comes from every walk of life. Mingo strives to keep tuition affordable for all. MVCS student body represents over 70 different church homes.
